We've been working out of Dibbyadanga for a while now, specifically at Subrata Sarkar’s place. It’s a quiet area, and most of us here are just focused on the farming side of things. It started because a few of us realized that doing things alone as small farmers wasn't really getting us anywhere. So we formed Bharatiyo Agro Farmers Producer Company Limited. It’s not some big fancy office or anything. We mostly meet up near where Subrata lives, since his father, late Sital Sarkar, was well known in the village. Most days are spent talking about seeds, the weather, and how to get a better price for what we grow. It’s hard work, especially when the rains don't come when they should. We don't have a big marketing team or a website that looks professional. It’s just us trying to figure out the best way to move our crops. Sometimes the paperwork gets confusing, but we manage. If you’re looking for us, just head into the village and ask for the Sarkar house. We don’t have regular hours like a shop might, but someone is usually around if there’s work to be done in the fields or if a delivery is coming in. It’s just a group of local people trying to make a living and keep the farm going. We aren't doing anything flashy, just the basic stuff that needs doing to keep the business running and the families fed in this part of the country.
