Naxalbari Agriculture Producer Company Limited

Down in Babupara, not too far from the main Naxalbari station, you’ll find our little setup for the agriculture producer company. It’s right there in the Darjeeling district, but we are down in the plains where it’s more about the vegetables and grains than the tea leaves you see up higher. The weather here can be a bit unpredictable, one minute it's clear and the next it's pouring down, which keeps us on our toes. Our office is just a simple building in the village where we keep our supplies and talk to the local growers. Babupara is a busy place, plenty of people moving around, so there’s always someone stopping by to ask about the current market prices or to drop off some paperwork. We don't have any big corporate goals, we just want to make sure the farmers in Naxalbari get a fair shake. Managing the logistics of getting produce from the fields to the market takes up most of our time. Sometimes the trucks are late or the storage gets too full, but we manage. It’s a lot of phone calls and ledger entries. We don’t use any fancy language because everyone around here knows us anyway. It’s about the soil, the seeds, and making sure the Babupara community has what it needs to keep the farms running. We’ve been part of this neighborhood for a long time now and we just do our daily work as best as we can.
