Vengateswara mess

Vengateswara mess is located right on Syrien Church Road, which is a pretty well-known spot here in Coimbatore. If you know where the Syrian church is, we are just a short walk from there at number 28. Our mornings usually start quite early when it is still a bit cool outside. We spend a lot of time in the kitchen chopping vegetables and getting the big pots ready on the stoves. The air gets thick with the smell of spices and steam pretty quickly. It is not a big place, just enough room for people to sit down and have a meal without too much fuss. We use simple metal tables and chairs that are easy to wipe down. People from the neighborhood and folks working nearby come in mostly. Sometimes it gets really crowded around lunchtime and we have to move fast to keep up. The street outside can get noisy with all the traffic heading toward the city center, but inside we just focus on the food. We don't have a big fancy menu, just the usual things people expect to eat every day. Sometimes we run out of certain items before the day is over if it has been especially busy. We do our own cleaning and shopping for the ingredients at the local market. It is just a regular mess doing regular things for the local crowd who needs a bite.
