Appatha Restaurant

Appatha Restaurant is located at No 110 in Tatabad, Coimbatore. We are right by the West Power House, which is the main landmark around here. Tatabad is a busy area with a lot of shops and businesses, so there is always noise and movement on the street outside. We’ve been in this building for a while now. It’s a simple structure, nothing that would win any design awards or look good in a magazine. We just needed a place to cook and serve, and this spot worked out for us. Every morning, we arrive and get the stoves going before the sun gets too high. There’s a rhythm to the work that we all know by heart now. We don’t have a big marketing team or anyone telling us how we should look professional. We just wear our regular clothes and get to work. The people who come in are usually working in the shops nearby or living in the neighborhood houses. We know most of them by name and they know us too. It’s a plain and honest sort of place. We don’t try to be something we aren't. If you’re near the power house, you’ll find us easily enough. We’re just here doing our thing day after day, year after year. Sometimes the street gets flooded when it rains, and we have to sweep the water out, but we just keep going.
