Tiffin House

Tiffin House is over at No 24/5 on Edayar Street in Coimbatore. It is a street that always feels alive with people and vehicles going every which way. We’ve been at this spot for quite some time now and it feels like a second home to all of us. The mornings start early with the smell of woodsmoke and tempering spices as we get the first pots going. Coimbatore can get pretty warm, and our shop doesn't have any air conditioning, so we rely on the breeze coming through the front door. We have a simple setup with stainless steel plates and big water jugs on the tables. The walls are a bit stained from years of cooking, but we think it gives the place some character. Our customers are mostly folks who work in the nearby markets or live around the corner. We don't go in for fancy plating or complicated menus. We just serve what we know how to make. Sometimes we run out of the popular items by mid-afternoon, which can be a bit of a disappointment for the latecomers. The kids often drop by after school to help out or just sit in the corner with their books. It is a family-run operation through and through. We don't have any big plans for expansion; we just want to keep things running right here on Edayar Street for as long as we can and make sure everyone gets fed.
