Shalini Chettinadu Restaurant

Shalini Chettinadu Restaurant is at 99-A on Dr. Radhakrishna Road. We are right at the Six Corner area in Tatabad. If you know where Kavry Theater is, then you know where we are because we are right opposite to it. This part of Coimbatore is always moving. When a movie lets out, it gets really busy around here. We have been serving Chettinadu style food for a while. The kitchen is always going. You can smell the spices from the sidewalk. It’s not a quiet place. There is always the sound of plates and people talking. We have some regular customers from the offices nearby in Tatabad. The tables are basic and we don't have fancy decorations. We just focus on getting the food out to the people. Sometimes the traffic at Six Corner makes it hard to park, but people still find their way in. We open up and start the prep work early because the spices take time to get right. It’s a lot of work in the kitchen. We aren't a big chain, just a local spot that people know. We see families and workers and theater-goers. It gets hot in the kitchen but that is how it goes. We just keep serving until the pots are empty. It’s a simple life running a restaurant here. We close up once the theater crowds are gone for the night.
