MR Biriyani

MR Biriyani is situated at No 7 on 80Feet Road in Ramanathapuram. If you are driving around Coimbatore, you will probably see us right across from the Ambal autos service center. That road is usually quite busy with traffic, so there is always a bit of a hum from the engines outside. We have been in this spot for some time now, just making biriyani in the big metal pots we keep in the back. The 641045 area is a good place to be, and we get a lot of workers coming in for their midday break. The tables are basic and we don't bother much with fancy lighting or anything like that. We just focus on getting the rice and the meat cooked through. When the pots are opened, the whole shop fills up with steam and the scent of the spices we use. It can get a little messy during the lunch rush, with plates moving fast and people looking for a place to sit. We do our best to keep things tidy, but it's a busy kitchen. There are no menus with pictures, just a simple list of what we have that day. It is a straightforward operation where we come in, start the fire, and cook until the pots are empty. Most of our regulars are from the auto shops or the nearby offices.
