Mas Biriyani Hotel

Our hotel is at No 614 on Mill Road in the Town Hall area of Coimbatore. We are very close to the Marakkadai bus stop, which is a place everyone knows. It’s a very noisy part of town because of the buses constantly stopping and starting. We call it Mas Biriyani Hotel, but it’s more like a regular local eating place than a fancy hotel. We’ve been serving biriyani here for years. The kitchen is at the back and you can usually smell the spices even before you walk in. It gets very hot in there, especially when we are cooking large batches in the morning. We have some basic tables and stools for people to sit. Most of our customers are people working in the Town Hall area or those waiting for their bus at Marakkadai. We don't have a big menu with lots of options. We just do our biriyani and that’s about it. The floor is made of old tiles and the walls have a few simple pictures. It’s a very practical place. We don't spend money on advertising or fancy lights. We just open the shutters in the morning and start the day's work. Sometimes we get a big rush at lunchtime and it can be a bit chaotic with everyone trying to get a seat. We just keep serving until the pots are empty. It’s a simple business for us and we just take each day as it comes.
