Our office is at 5B, Alamelu Nagar, just off Kamarajar Road. It’s a busy part of town. We’ve got a lot of equipment packed into our space. It’s mostly UPS systems, inverters, and things to keep the power steady. We don't have much of a storefront. Most people just come in through the side door where the deliveries happen. The walls are lined with shelves of heavy batteries and circuit boards. It smells a bit like solder and old paper in here. We spend our days troubleshooting or assembling units for local shops and houses. The phone rings a lot, especially during the rainy season when the power acts up. We aren't corporate types. We’re usually in our work clothes, checking meters and wiring things up. Lunch is usually a quick affair at the desks. We’ve been in this building for quite a while now. The neighborhood has changed, but we’re still doing the same thing. It’s steady work. We know the machines we sell, and we know how to fix them when they stop working. There isn't much more to it than that. We just show up, do the repairs, and head home. It's a good way to earn a living. The stairs up to the office are a bit narrow, so carrying the heavy UPS units down can be a real chore. We usually have two guys handle it so nobody hurts their back. There’s a small park nearby where some of the staff go for a walk during the break, though most just stay and look at their phones. It's a plain building, but it suits us.
