Idli Kadai

We are located at Shop No 117 on West Bashyakaralu Road in R S Puram. It’s a good spot in Coimbatore, right near the Avin Milk place and just opposite the back gate of Rao Hospital. Being near a hospital means we see people at all hours, often looking for something quick and warm to eat. Idli Kadai is exactly what it sounds like. We spend most of our morning steaming idlis and getting the chutneys ready. It’s a small shop, so there isn’t much room to move around behind the counter, but we’ve gotten used to it over the years. The street outside can get quite crowded with traffic, especially during the lunch hour. We start early because people in this neighborhood like their breakfast before they head off to work. We don't have a big team, just a few of us who know how to keep the pots moving. Sometimes the line gets a bit long, and we have to tell people to wait a few minutes while the next batch finishes. It’s honest work, and we like being part of the R S Puram community. We just keep our heads down and focus on the food. If you’re walking down Bashyakaralu Road, you’ll probably smell the steam before you see the sign. It’s just a basic local eatery for everyday people who want something simple. We take pride in just doing one thing every single day without overthinking it.
