Biryani Kadai

Being in Gandhipuram is always a bit chaotic for us. Our shop, Biryani Kadai, is located right in the thick of things near VOC Park and the stadium. If you’re around Coimbatore, you know this part of town never really sleeps much. There is always someone walking by, either going to the park for a stroll or heading to catch a bus at the main stand. We’ve stayed in this spot because it’s where all the action is. The shop itself is pretty straightforward. We don’t have fancy decorations or anything like that. It’s just a place to eat a meal. Usually, the lunch hour is when it gets really frantic. We have to move fast to make sure everyone gets their food before they head back to work or wherever they’re going. Sometimes we run out of things earlier than we expected, which is just part of the job and how things go. The staff here are mostly local guys who know the regulars by face. We see the same people coming in week after week, which is nice. It’s a bit hot inside with the kitchen going and the Coimbatore sun beating down outside, but we have some fans running to keep the air moving. We don't try to be anything we aren't. We just open up the shutters, cook what we need to, and serve the people who walk in. It’s a routine that’s worked for us for a long time now. It’s just a local spot for people who happen to be in Gandhipuram and need a quick, simple meal.
