Biriyani Spot

We set up Biriyani Spot at No 198 on Vysial Street Road, right near Thanmaraja Kovil Street in the Town Hall area of Coimbatore. Our place is directly opposite the Manakaratchi Kalyana Mandapam. Whenever there is a big wedding or an event happening across the street, we get extremely busy with all the guests and workers. It is a very crowded part of town, and finding a place to park a car can be a real headache, but people still manage to come by. We have been in this spot for several years now. The shop itself is getting a bit old, and the walls probably need some work, but we spend almost all our time in the kitchen anyway. We have to start the fires early in the morning because the rice takes a long time to get just right. A couple of local guys help us with the serving and the cleaning up. They aren't professional waiters, just hard-working people from the nearby streets. Most of our customers are the shopkeepers from around the Town Hall area who need a quick meal before they have to go back to their shops. We do not do any fancy plating or use expensive plates. It is just simple, honest food served on a plate. Sometimes we run out of food earlier than we planned if it is a busy day, and we just have to close up the shop early. That is just the way it goes sometimes.
