Young Star Beauty Parlour

Triplicane is full of narrow streets and old buildings, and Devaraj Street is where you will find Young Star Beauty Parlour. We are right near the Renuka Parameshwari Temple. The area has a lot of history and the people here are very traditional in their ways. Even though the name of the shop says "Young Star," we serve people of all ages, from little kids to the very elderly. I remember when we first moved into this spot, the walls were quite bare and white. Now we have shelves full of different creams and bottles that we use every day. It’s a local place through and through. The morning starts with the sound of temple prayers and the smell of jasmine flowers from the street vendors nearby. We get a lot of people coming in after they visit the temple. The shop stays quite cool because of the high ceiling, which is a blessing in the Chennai summer. We have two main chairs and a wooden bench for people to wait on. The magazines on the bench are usually a few months old, but people still enjoy reading them. We don't have a computer or anything like that, we just keep a small notebook for our accounts. It’s a quiet life, mostly. We know the milkman and the newspaper guy. Everything here happens at a slow, steady pace, and we like it that way. It is a good place to be.
