Aj Saloon

Aj Saloon is situated at No:157 in Ambedhkar Nagar, which is part of the S Block in Anna Nagar, Chennai. We are right on Padikuppam Main Road, so there is always a lot of noise and traffic going by. It’s a typical Chennai street, hot and busy most of the time. Our shop is a small place where men from the neighborhood come to get their hair trimmed or a quick shave before work. We have a few old chairs that have seen a lot of use over the years. The mirrors are a bit spotted, but they do the job. We don’t have fancy air conditioning, just the ceiling fans that hum all day long. In the evenings, it gets quite crowded because everyone finishes work at the same time. You’ll hear a lot of talk about cricket or the local news while the scissors are clicking away. We’ve been on Padikuppam Main Road for a long time, and we’ve seen the shops around us change names and owners many times. We just keep doing what we know. It’s a simple business. We sweep the floor every hour and keep the water jugs filled. It’s not a place for a luxury experience, just a good, honest haircut. Most of our customers are regulars who have been coming to us since they were kids. We know who wants a side part and who wants it short. That’s how we spend our days in Anna Nagar, just cutting hair and talking to friends.
