7 Star Salon

Mount Road is a loud place. The traffic on Balamuthu Street doesn't ever seem to stop. We're at number 64. Our salon isn't the biggest, but it works for us. I start most days by cranking up the metal shutters. Then I get the water going. We've been around this neighborhood for a long time. You start to see the same people coming through the door every week. They come for a haircut or maybe just a quick shave. It's a plain spot with a few chairs. Sometimes the tea stall down the way brings us some chai while we're working. We don't spend money on fancy lights or posters. The focus is just on the job. Whether a kid is here for his first cut or an old man wants his regular shave, we do it. Mount Road changes all the time, but our corner stays the same. It can get crowded inside when a few people are waiting. Nobody really complains about it though. We just sweep the floor and keep our tools ready for the next person. If you're near the Royal Hotel, you'll find us easily. We're just a local place for the neighborhood folks to get cleaned up. It's not complicated, we just do what we do and try to keep things moving along.
