Vijayas Beauty Parlour

If you are looking for us in Perambur, we are on Gurumurthy Garden Street at number 13/14. It’s a narrow street but people find us easily because we are near the Royal Women Hostel. We are also right across from where the Aircel showroom used to be. The parlour is a small, cozy space where we spend our days doing threading, facials, and hair work for the local ladies. It’s mostly women from the neighborhood who drop by after finishing their house chores or before going to a wedding. We have a few chairs and a lot of bottles and jars on the shelves. Chennai gets very hot, so we always have the fans going full speed. The street outside is usually full of scooters and people walking to the nearby shops. It can get a bit noisy with the traffic, but inside we just focus on the work. We’ve been here long enough that we know which neighbor likes what. It’s not a fancy place with big signs, just a simple local parlour where we try to make sure everyone leaves looking a bit better than they did when they walked in. Sometimes the power goes out and we have to wait a bit, but that’s just how it is here. We keep the mirrors clean and the towels washed, and we just keep going day after day.
