Vaibhav Ladies Beauty Parlour

Vaibhav Ladies Beauty Parlour is situated at No 136/1 on Gollewar Agraharam Road. This is in the Washermanpet area of Chennai. The road out front is usually busy with people going to the market or the nearby shops. Our parlour is a small place tucked into the ground floor of the building. Inside, we have a couple of chairs and a table where we keep all the different threads, waxes, and creams. The walls are painted pink, but the paint is starting to peel a little near the ceiling. We have a large mirror that we bought a few years ago and it still works fine for what we do. There is a small fan that oscillates to keep the air moving, though it can still get a bit stuffy when the shop is full. Most of the women who come here are from the neighborhood and they come in for their regular threading or to get their hair braided. We have a small curtain in one corner for when someone needs to change or for more private work. The floor is tiled and we spend a lot of time sweeping up hair and bits of cotton. We don't have any fancy posters or big advertisements, just the name on the door. It's a simple place where we work every day and talk to the ladies about their families and the local gossip. Usually, we are open until the evening when the street gets a bit quieter.
