Trophy Beauty Parlour

Being over here in the Elconso Building on Kasa Major Road means we see a lot of the Egmore crowd. We are right next to Don Bosco School, so when school lets out, the whole street gets really loud and busy. This shop, Trophy Beauty Parlour, has been our daily life for a long time. It is not a huge place, just a few stations where we do hair, facials, and the usual beauty stuff. The mirrors are a bit old, and the chairs have some wear on them, but they are comfortable enough. We get a mix of people—moms waiting for their kids, office workers from nearby, and long-time residents of Chennai who have been coming to us for years. We don't do much advertising; people just walk in because they know we are here. The traffic outside can be a headache, especially in the evenings, but inside we just try to keep things steady. Sometimes we are gossiping about local news, other times it is quiet while someone gets a head massage. We keep our supplies in the back and try to stay organized, though it gets messy when we are busy. It’s just a normal business trying to help people look a bit neater before they head back out into the Chennai heat. We take things one day at a time here. It isn't fancy, but it is home for us during the day. We usually have the radio playing softly in the background to drown out the car horns from the main road.
