Taj Babu Mens Beauty Parlour

We are down here on Thirupalli Street in Sowcarpet. The shop is at number 96. If you know the Apollo Hospital area, you know how busy it gets around here. It is mostly just us doing hair and shaves for the men who live around the corner or work in the local shops. Some days the fans do not keep up with the Chennai heat but we try to keep the place tidy. Most of the regulars have been coming to us for years. They usually sit and talk about whatever is happening in the news while waiting their turn. It is not a big fancy place, just some chairs and mirrors. We handle the basic stuff like haircuts and trimming beards. Sometimes the street outside gets blocked with bikes so it is hard to find a spot to park, but people manage. We open up early and stay late most days because that is when people have time after work. There is no big secret to what we do here. We just use the scissors and the clippers like everyone else. If you are walking past the hospital and need a quick tidy up, you can find us easily. The shop sign is not the biggest, but the neighbors know where Taj Babu is. We do not really do appointments or anything, folks just walk in and wait on the bench. It is a bit cramped when it gets crowded on Sundays, but that is just how it is in this part of town.
