Surya Saloon

Surya Saloon is on Thiru Vi Ka Street in the Otteri area. The shop is at number 40, which used to be old number 30/1. It is right in the heart of Perambur Barracks. This is a very old neighborhood and we have been here for quite a long time. The shop is small and a bit old-fashioned, but it works for us. We have the usual barber chairs and mirrors that have seen many years of use. Most of our customers are locals who have been living in Otteri their whole lives. Grandfathers often bring their grandsons here for their first haircuts. We do basic cuts, shaves, and maybe a head massage if someone is feeling tired. The street outside is always noisy with bikes and people walking by. We keep the radio on sometimes to listen to some old songs. It’s not a place for anything trendy or modern. We just stick to the styles people have asked for for years. The walls have a few old pictures on them. We try to keep things simple and honest. When the weather is very hot, we keep the door open to get some breeze from the street. It is just a regular local saloon where men can sit for twenty minutes, get their hair sorted out, and then go back to their day. No fuss or complications. Just a part of the daily life on Thiru Vi Ka Street.
