Super Saloon

Being located in the GG Complex on Dr Besant Road is quite something because Royapettah is never quiet. Super Saloon is at number 91, and we are right in the middle of everything near the Mesapet Market. You can hear the sellers shouting their prices for vegetables and fruits all day long. It gets very lively, especially on weekends when everyone is out shopping. The stairs up to the complex can be a bit steep for some people, but once you’re inside, it’s a different world. We have been here for a long time now. The equipment isn't the latest model, but it gets the job done well enough for the local crowd. I usually spend my time sharpening the tools or rearranging the bottles on the counter when it's slow. The market crowd keeps us on our feet though. Sometimes we don't even have time to eat lunch until late afternoon. We get a lot of workers from the market coming in for a quick shave or a head massage to relax after a long shift. The tea here is great, we get it from the stall downstairs in a small glass. We don't have much wall decoration, just a few old calendars and a picture of the deity. It feels like home to us because we spend more time here than anywhere else. The floor gets covered in hair quickly, so someone is always sweeping. It is just the way things go around here.
