Srishti Handicrafts

Srishti Handicrafts is based in Oakwood Apartments on Anderson Road. We’re in unit A1. It’s a bit different running a business out of an apartment building, but it works for what we do. Anderson Road is a nice enough place, though it gets quite congested during peak hours. Our space is filled with all sorts of handmade items. Sometimes it feels like there’s barely enough room to walk between the boxes and the displays. We don’t have a big warehouse, so we have to stay very organized, or at least try to. We work with different artisans, and things come in from all over. The smell of wood and fabric is always in the air here. It’s a small team, mostly just us packing things up and checking for any defects. We don't have a big marketing department or anything. People usually find out about us through word of mouth or by seeing the address. It’s a bit of a maze inside with all the stock, but we know where everything is. We take the orders, wrap them carefully, and send them off. Sometimes we sit on the balcony for a break when things get too cramped inside. It’s a very hands-on way to spend the day. We’ve been at this for a while and don't plan on changing much.
