Rajalakshmi Exports

Rajalakshmi Exports is over at 68/55 on West Madha Street in Royapuram. Royapuram is an old part of the city, close to the sea, so you can often feel the salt in the air. We are an export house, mostly handling goods that go out through the nearby port. Our office is a simple building on a street that’s always full of cycles and small trucks. It’s not a fancy place at all. We have a few desks, some old cupboards for files, and a lot of samples sitting around. We spend our days coordinating with the docks and making sure the containers are loaded. Sometimes the paperwork is a real headache, especially when the rules change, but we just deal with it one day at a time. The staff here has been together for years. We eat lunch together and complain about the humidity. We don't have a big mission statement or any of that. We just want to get the products from point A to point B without too much trouble. It gets noisy outside with the street vendors and the traffic, but we are used to the rhythm of Royapuram. We don't do much advertising; our business comes from long-standing contacts. It’s just a normal, hardworking office where we try to keep things moving. We know our regular customers pretty well and just keep doing what we know. Some days the sea breeze is the only thing that keeps us going through the afternoon.
