Ashok Brothers Impex is located in Laxmi Bhavan on Mount Road. If you know Chennai, you know how busy this street gets. We are in 6-D. It’s an old building, but it has some character. We’ve been operating out of this spot for quite some time now. Most of our day is spent on the phone or tracking shipments. Import and export work involves a lot of waiting and then a lot of rushing. The office is usually piled high with files and sample boxes. We aren't trying to impress anyone with expensive furniture. We just need a place to sit and get the logistics sorted. Sometimes the traffic outside is so loud we have to shout a bit. We get people coming in for all sorts of trade queries. It’s a small group of us here. We grab lunch from the local spots nearby. It’s a busy life. We don't have a fancy lobby or anything like that. Just a door with our name on it. You walk in and you'll see people busy with customs papers or talking to suppliers. It’s honest work. We’ve seen the neighborhood change a lot over the years. Some businesses have left, but we’re still here at 609 Mount Road. We don't do much advertising. People usually find us through word of mouth or if they've dealt with us before. It's just how we run things every day.
