Srisha Beauty Parlour

Srisha Beauty Parlour is located in the 600001 area of Chennai. This is a very old and busy part of the city where there is always something going on. Our parlour is quite small and it is just tucked into a corner of a building. Srisha is the person who runs everything here. She started it because she wanted to have a place where local ladies could come and feel comfortable. We do not have any big signs or posters on the walls. It is just a simple space with a couple of mirrors and some chairs for the customers. We do a lot of braiding and threading, and sometimes we do makeup for local weddings. Because we are in such a busy part of Chennai, it is never really quiet. You can always hear the buses and the people outside. We have a small fan that we keep on high speed because it gets so hot in the afternoons. Most of the people who come to us live in the nearby houses and they just walk over. We do not have a telephone for the shop, so if you want to see us, you just have to drop by. If we are busy, we will tell you when to come back. It is a very informal way of doing things but it works for us and our customers. We have been here for about five years and we know the neighbors well.
