Srinivasa General Store has its home at 8/29 on Dr Alagappa Road in Purasawalkam. Chennai is a city with so many neighborhoods, and we are glad to be part of this one for quite a long time. Our shop is a straightforward general store where we keep all the things a household might need on a daily basis. From grains and oils to small items like matches or soap, it’s all here. Purasawalkam is a busy area, and Dr Alagappa Road sees a lot of foot traffic. We get all kinds of people coming in, from students to grandmothers doing their daily shopping. The humidity in Chennai can be a lot, but we keep the shop open and ready every day. It’s not a fancy supermarket with air conditioning and shiny floors. It’s just a regular local shop where we know where everything is, even if it looks a bit crowded to an outsider. We don't use any special systems, just our own hands and eyes to keep things moving. Most of our day is spent talking to regulars and unpacking new crates of goods. It’s a simple life, and we take pride in just being a reliable place for the people nearby. We don't make big promises, we just show up and open the shutters every morning to serve the community. It is hard work but it is what we do.
