We're over on 100 Feet Road in Velachery, right at number 20. If you know the area, you know how packed the traffic gets during rush hour. Our shop is mostly filled with boxes of power tools stacked up to the ceiling. It’s a bit of a mess sometimes, but we know where everything is. People stop in because they need a drill fixed or they’re looking for a new saw for a job they're doing. We spend most of the day answering questions about batteries and motors. Chennai is always hot, so we keep the fans going as much as we can, but it doesn't always help. Sometimes the sidewalk outside is blocked by deliveries coming in. We’ve been at this location for a while now. The staff here ends up learning a lot about tools just because we handle them all day long. It’s a small team, just a few of us working behind the counter and in the back. We don't have a big fancy showroom, just rows of tools and parts. It gets loud when we test a machine for a customer. We usually have some coffee in the afternoon to stay awake. It’s just a regular local business trying to keep up with all the construction going on around Velachery. We close up around the usual time and do it all again the next day. It’s hard work but it’s what we do. No one really bothers with fancy decorations here.
