Bsh Household Appliance Manufacturing is located over at S45 in the Sipcot Industrial Park. We’re deep into the Pillaipakkam area, near Vengadu Village in Sriperumbudur. It’s a massive industrial zone, so there are trucks moving in and out at all hours of the day and night. Working here feels different than being in the city. There’s a lot of space, but it’s also very busy in its own way. Our plant is where we put together various household appliances. It’s a big floor with different sections for assembly and parts. We have a lot of people coming in for shifts. Some take the company buses from quite far away. The noise of the machinery is something you just get used to after a week or so. It’s not a glamorous job, but it’s steady. We have a canteen where everyone gathers for meals, which is usually the loudest part of the day. The area around Vengadu Village is still quite rural in parts, so you see a lot of green fields right next to these huge factories. It’s a strange mix. We just focus on meeting the production numbers and making sure the machines are running right. There isn't much time for anything else. We keep our heads down and get the work done. The weather in Sriperumbudur can be quite humid, which makes the factory floor feel even bigger and stuffier.
