Sri Sabari Saloon

Sri Sabari Saloon is located at No.17 Murugappa Street in Vepery. We are right near the Purasai Market, which is one of the busiest spots in this part of Chennai. Because of the market, there is always a lot of noise and activity just outside our door. The saloon itself is quite modest. We have been here for a long time, serving the local residents and the people who come to the market for their daily needs. It’s a small space, so it can get a bit cramped when three or four people are waiting, but we have some stools for them to sit on. We do basic haircuts and shaves, nothing too modern or complicated. The tools we use are the same ones we’ve trusted for years. We don't have a big sign or any bright lights, just the name of the shop on the wall. The walls are painted a simple color and we have some old pictures of gods near the entrance. It feels like a traditional neighborhood shop where everyone is welcome. Sometimes the smell of the market comes in when the wind blows the right way, but that’s just part of being in Vepery. We start early in the morning and stay open until the market starts to quiet down in the evening. It’s a steady job and we enjoy seeing the familiar faces of our regulars who have supported us for so long.
