Sri Balaji Mens Beauty

Our shop is called Sri Balaji Mens Beauty and we are right here at number 285 on Swamy Naicken Street. If you are in the Chindatripet area of Chennai, you might have seen us just across from Lakshmi Cottage. It’s a small place, nothing fancy at all. We have been here for quite some time now, mostly serving the local men who need a haircut or a clean shave. The chairs we have are old but comfortable enough. We don’t really do appointments, so people just walk in and wait their turn on the bench. Sometimes it gets crowded on Sunday mornings when everyone wants to look sharp for the week. We have a couple of fans that stay on all day to fight the Chennai heat. The noise from the street is always there, but we are used to it by now. We keep our tools clean and our scissors sharp. It’s a simple living for us. We know most of the guys who come in, we’ve seen their kids grow up and start coming for their own haircuts. We don’t use any of those expensive products you see in malls. Just the basic stuff that works. If you are passing by the cottage, you can’t miss our blue door. We just try to do a steady job every day and keep the floor swept between customers. We've got a small bench where you can sit if there's a line and sometimes the newspaper is there to read.
