Shree Vimala Beauty Parlour

Shree Vimala Beauty Parlour is located at No 6 on Parthsarathy Street in Chepauk, Chennai. This is a very old and crowded part of the city. The shop is on the ground floor of an old building. It is not a very large space, but we have made it work for us. I have been here for over ten years now. We do mostly basic things like threading, waxing, and hair trims for the local women. Chennai is very hot for most of the year, so we always have the ceiling fans running at full speed. When there is a cricket match at the nearby stadium, the whole street gets very packed and noisy. We can hear the fans shouting from inside the shop. I have two girls who work with me and we are all very comfortable with each other. We spend the day chatting while we work on our customers. We don't wear any uniforms or fancy clothes. It is just us in our regular sarees or suits. We keep the shop as clean as we can, though the old walls sometimes look a bit worn out. We use the regular beauty products that are available in the local shops. We don't have a website or any social media pages. People usually find out about us from their friends or neighbors. It’s a very simple, local business that serves the people living around Chepauk. We stay open until about 8 PM every evening.
