Shagun Ladies Beauty Paarlour

Our place is on Mint Street in Sowcarpet. It’s on the first floor, shop number 353. Sowcarpet is a busy area, always full of people and noise. If you’ve been here, you know how the traffic is. We’ve been in this building for quite a while now. The stairs are a little narrow and steep, so you have to watch your step when you come up. It’s a small parlor, nothing like those big fancy chains. We have a couple of chairs and the usual mirrors. Most of the ladies who come in are regulars from the neighborhood. They stop by for a quick eyebrow threading or a haircut between their errands. We keep the fans running because it gets really hot in Chennai, especially in the afternoons. You can hear the sounds of the street below through the windows. It’s a lot of honking and people shouting, but you get used to it. We don't have a big staff, just a few of us working here every day. We don't really do any big advertising. People just find us by walking past or hearing about us from their friends. The room is simple and we try to keep it as tidy as we can. It’s a steady job and we’ve made a lot of friends over the years. We just do our work and go home when the sun goes down. It’s a normal life here in this part of the city.
