Sai Anjanas Beauty Parlour

We have been operating at No 2, Montieth Road for quite some time now. Being in Egmore, right near Hotel Atlantic, means there is always something happening outside the door. The morning starts with pulling up the metal shutters and sweeping the front step. It gets dusty quickly here in Chennai. The shop isn't very large, but we have enough room for the chairs and the various bottles we use. We don't have any fancy decorations on the walls, just a few old mirrors that have been here since the start. The ceiling fan hums all day long to keep the heat away. Sometimes the regulars come in just to sit and talk for a bit before getting anything done. We know most of the people who walk by every day. It’s a simple life running a parlour in this part of town. The sink is sometimes a bit slow to drain, and the chairs have some scuff marks on the legs. We don’t mind those things much because they show the place is used. Every afternoon, the sun hits the street in a certain way, and we usually take a small break for tea. It is just a normal business where we do our work and go home. People find us easily because of the hotel nearby. We keep the towels clean and the scissors sharp, and that is about all there is to it.
