You’ll find S. & S. Trading Co. down at 8 Sembudoss Street. We are right in the middle of Parry’S Corner in George Town. If you know Chennai, you know how packed this area gets. It’s a maze of streets and old buildings, but there’s a lot of energy here. Our shop is one of many along the street, and it’s been there for quite some time. The building is older, with high ceilings and that specific smell of an established trading spot. We spend most of our time dealing with the inventory and talking to people who drop by. It’s loud outside with the horns and the crowds, but inside we just focus on the task at hand. We don’t have any fancy marketing materials or a polished front office. It’s just a counter, some shelves, and a lot of hustle. Moving goods in and out of Sembudoss Street can be a challenge with the narrow roads, but we’ve got a system that works. We start early to beat the worst of the heat and the traffic. George Town has a history of being the hub for this kind of work, and we are just a small part of that tradition. We handle our business, talk to our regulars, and keep the books straight. It’s honest work in a very busy part of the city. We wouldn't want to be anywhere else really. Even when the monsoon rains flood the streets a little, we keep things moving as best as we can.
