Rohini'S Food Products

Down on Sharathi Street in Ponniamman Medu, things move at their own pace. Rohini'S Food Products is located at what used to be Old No. 2 but is now New No. 4. People still get confused by the numbers sometimes when they come to visit us. The street is usually pretty narrow, so when a delivery truck comes by, everything else has to stop for a minute. You can usually smell what we are working on before you even get inside the building. It’s a busy environment with a lot of heavy lifting and packing going on. We don’t have a big corporate office; it’s more of a workspace where everyone is constantly on their feet. The floors are concrete and we have to keep them clean because of the nature of what we handle. Sometimes the fans overhead don't quite cut it during the summer months, but we’re used to the heat by now. There is a small desk near the front where we keep the ledgers and the phone, but most of the action happens in the back. We have a few staff members who have been here since the start. They know exactly how the machines sound when they are running right. It’s the kind of place where your hands get dirty and the day goes by faster than you expect. We just focus on getting the orders out and making sure the supplies are coming in on time.
