A H Halwa Wala

If you ever find yourself walking down Jani Jan Khan Road in Royapettah, you might come across A H Halwa Wala. We are at New No 84, which is quite close to Hajra Mahal. It is a busy spot and we have been making halwa here for quite some time now. The shop isn't very large, but it serves its purpose for what we do every day. Making sweets is a bit of a messy business, with the sugar and the heat and the constant stirring, but we are used to it by now. People from the neighborhood stop by pretty often just to see what is fresh. We don't really do much advertising because most folks around here just know we are here and what we offer. It can get quite hot in the kitchen area, especially in the afternoons when the sun is hitting the street. We spend a lot of time making sure the texture is just how it should be before we put it out. Royapettah is a lively place to have a business, and we like being part of the street life here. Sometimes we run out of certain things before the day is over, but that is just how it goes with a small shop. We try to keep the place tidy and ready for whoever walks through the door next. It is just a local sweet shop, nothing more and nothing less. We take pride in the work we do with our hands every day at No 84. It keeps us busy and we like the routine.
