Sri Bombay Halwa House

Our shop is at No 38 on Triplicane High Road. It’s a very old part of Chennai, near Mount Road. If you know where the Star Theatre is, then you can find us easily because we are right near it. We've been making sweets and halwa here for a long time. The 600002 area is always crowded with traffic and people going to the movies or shopping. Our place is small and the shelves are usually full of different boxes. We don't have a big marketing team or anything like that. It’s just me and a few workers who have been here since they were young. We make everything in the back. The smell of sugar and ghee usually drifts out onto the high road. It’s a bit messy sometimes when we are busy, but we try to keep up. We don't use fancy packaging, just plain boxes that do the job. A lot of people stop by after a show at the theatre or on their way home from work. Triplicane is a busy place, and we are just one small part of it. We use recipes that haven't changed much over the years. We aren't trying to be a modern cafe. We are just a halwa house. If you are walking down the road near Mount Road, you’ll see our sign. It’s a simple business, and we like it that way.
