We've been here at No 12/26 Sowrashtra Nagar for a while now. If you walk out of the Nungambakkam Railway Station, you just look across and there we are on First Street. It gets pretty loud with the trains passing by all day, but we've gotten used to it after all these years. Every morning starts quite early for us because making sweets takes a lot of time and you can't really rush the process without ruining things. We mostly handle things through the email address in our name, Arunasweets@Gmail.Com, which sounds a bit funny for a business name but it works for keeping track of what people need from us. The kitchen gets really hot, especially in the late afternoons when the sun hits our side of the street. Neighbors from around the station drop by often just to see what's being made. Sometimes we are just packing up cardboard boxes for hours on end. It isn't a fancy setup or anything like those big shops you see in the mall. We just have our own space here in this part of town and we keep busy with the orders that come in through the week. Most days it’s just the heavy smell of sugar and ghee everywhere. You might see us through the window if you’re heading to catch a train in the morning. The street outside can get a bit crowded with bikes and people rushing to work, but inside it's just us doing the same work we do every day. It's a simple life here in Nungambakkam and we don't really try to make it seem like anything more than what it is.
