Ranjith Mens Saloon

We are located at No.2 on Manigandan 3rd Street in Old Washermanpet. Ranjith Mens Saloon is a small place, but we’ve been here long enough that most of the folks around Chenna Market know us. It’s a busy area, lots of people moving around all day, so we see a lot of different faces. We do basic haircuts and shaves for the men in the neighborhood. It isn't a high-end place with air conditioning that freezes you out, but it’s comfortable enough for a quick trim. My tools are simple, just the usual scissors and clippers that I keep sharp. I try to keep the shop tidy, though it gets dusty with the road work and the market nearby. People stop in after they finish their shopping or on their way back from work. I usually have the radio on or just chat with whoever is in the chair. Sometimes we talk about the cricket scores or just the local news in Chennai. Old Washermanpet has its own vibe, and we are just one part of it. I’ve lived around here for years, so I know most of the families on this street. It’s hard work being on your feet all day, but it’s what I know. We open early and stay open until the evening rush dies down. Just a basic saloon for a decent haircut without any fuss. We don't have fancy brochures, just our hands and our experience cutting hair for the locals.
