Ramu Beauty Parlour

Down in Ayanavaram, you can find Ramu Beauty Parlour at No.5/4 on Anderson Road. We are right opposite the Old IG Office, which is a big landmark everyone knows. The shop isn't very large, but we have enough space for a few chairs and some benches for people waiting. It gets pretty hot in the afternoons, so we keep the fan running full speed. We do basic haircuts and shaves, and some of the younger guys come in for styling too. We've been in this part of Chennai for a long time. The street is usually dusty with all the traffic going towards the main road. Most of our customers are people who live in the nearby houses or work in the offices around here. It's not the kind of place with bright neon lights or expensive music. We just play the radio or talk about the local news while we work. The floor gets covered in hair pretty fast on Saturdays, so we are always sweeping. Sometimes the kids from the neighborhood come in with their dads for their first haircut. It’s a simple routine every day. We open up, clean the mirrors, and wait for the first person to walk in. We don't do anything complicated, just the usual things people need to look decent. The chairs are comfortable enough, and the water is always ready. We try to keep things organized even if it's a small space. It’s just us doing our job every day.
