We’ve been here at 71/33 Egmore High Road for a good while now. It’s right near the Palace Hotel, so people usually find us easily. Most days start early, getting things ready before the Egmore traffic really picks up. It’s a busy spot, and we see all sorts of people coming through the door. We keep the usual stuff people need for their houses—rice, soap, pulses, and those small things you might forget on your main shopping trip. The shop isn't fancy at all, just shelves packed with whatever fits. Sometimes it gets a bit cramped when a lot of people come at once, but we manage somehow. People around here know us by name, and we know what they usually ask for without them even saying it. It’s not about being the biggest store in Chennai, just about having what’s needed when someone walks in off the street. Sometimes the heat in the afternoon makes things slow down quite a bit, but then the evening rush starts again. We don't have a big team or anything, just a few of us making sure everything is in its place. The building itself has its quirks, like any old place in Egmore. We just keep the doors open and try to be helpful to whoever stops by. It’s a simple way to earn a living, honestly. No big corporate plans here, just keeping the stock fresh. If you’re passing by the hotel, you’ll see our sign. We're just a regular merchant shop.
