Rakshitas Beauty Parlour

We have been running Rakshitas Beauty Parlour for quite some time now over on Solaiappan Street. It is a busy part of Washermanpet, especially being so close to the Maharani Theatre. Most people around here know where that is. We are located at No 173. It is just a regular place where people come to get their hair done or maybe some threading. Nothing too fancy, just a local spot. Sometimes it gets a bit crowded on the weekends because everyone wants to look nice for a function or just for the week ahead. We see a lot of the same faces from around the neighborhood. It is nice to catch up with everyone while we work. The street outside is usually full of noise and traffic, which is just how Chennai is. We try to keep things organized inside though. If you are walking down from the theatre side, you will find us easily enough. We handle all the basic stuff like facials and haircuts. My cousin helped me set up the chairs when we first started. The floor needs a sweep pretty often because of all the hair cutting. We just do our work and go home. People seem to appreciate that we are right here in the middle of things. Chennai 600021 is a lively area to be in. We just keep the door open and wait for the next person to walk in. It’s a simple life running a parlour here.
