Being at No. 3 Partha Street in Chepauk puts us right in the middle of a very old and crowded part of the city. We have been working out of this office for a while now, and you get used to the sounds of the street and the people walking by all day. It is not a very big space, but it is enough for what we do here. Most of the time we are just sitting at the desks handling whatever paperwork or calls come our way. The walls could probably use a new coat of paint and the ceiling fan makes a bit of a clicking sound when it’s on the highest setting, but it works fine for us. There are plenty of small tea stalls nearby, so we usually head out for a quick break in the afternoon when it gets too stuffy inside. People come in and out, and sometimes we have to move some chairs around to make everyone fit. It is a practical sort of place where we just focus on the tasks we have for the day. We don’t have any fancy decorations or a big sign, just the name on the door so people know they have the right place. Chepauk is a lively neighborhood, especially when there is something happening at the stadium nearby, but on Partha Street, it’s just the usual daily grind for us and the other small businesses on the block. We just try to keep things organized.
