Karthika Ladies Beauty Parlour

Karthika Ladies Beauty Parlour is a small place located at No 28 on Chellappa Mudali Street. We are in the Kosapet area, which is part of Perambur Barracks in Chennai. It’s a quiet enough street most days, but it has its busy moments like everywhere else in the city. Since we only serve ladies, the atmosphere inside is quite private and relaxed. We’ve got a couple of stations set up for hair and other things. It’s not a big corporate salon with fancy uniforms. We just wear our regular clothes and get to work. Most of our customers live right here in Kosapet. They stop by on their way home from the market or when they have a bit of free time in the afternoon. We know their families and what’s going on in the neighborhood. The shop has been here for some time now, and we’ve gotten used to the rhythm of the street. Sometimes we have tea while waiting for the next person to come in. The fans keep things cool while we work on eyebrows or hair cuts. We don't have a big marketing plan or anything. We just hope that if someone likes what we do, they’ll tell their sister or their friend. That’s how we’ve always operated. It’s just a simple life running a local shop for the women in this part of Chennai. We keep the curtains closed so everyone feels comfortable while they are here getting things done.
