Kali Rajan & Bros

Kali Rajan & Bros has been located on Old Vethalai Kadai Street for a long time. Our doors are at number 21-22. The street is quite narrow, so it feels a bit tight when two carts try to pass each other out front. We have a lot of history inside this old building. You can tell by the way the floorboards creak when you walk all the way to the back. We do not really change the way we do things around here. It has worked for the brothers for many years, so we do not see a reason to bother changing it now. Sometimes it gets a bit dark inside because the windows are quite small. We keep the electric lights on even during the middle of the day. Old Vethalai Kadai Street is a busy place with lots of other small shops nearby. We know almost everyone who works on this block. Working at 21-22 is mostly about following a set routine. We arrive early, sweep the front step, and get things ready for the day. There is always something that needs fixing or moving around the storeroom. We do not use any fancy computers for our records; most things are still written down by hand. It is just the way we like to do it. The air inside smells a bit like old wood and whatever goods we have in stock. Some people say the street name is a bit hard to pronounce. We just keep working.
