Joice Beauty Parlour

Joice Beauty Parlour is situated at number 5 on Cemetery Road in Old Washermanpet. This part of Chennai is always moving and there is a lot of traffic outside our door. The shop itself is quite small and we have tried to make the best use of the space we have. We mostly do things like threading, basic facials, and simple hair cuts for women in the area. It is a very local spot and many of our customers have been coming to us since we first opened. The interior isn't anything like those big salons in the city. We have some basic shelves for our threads and creams and a couple of chairs that are comfortable enough for a quick visit. It can get a bit stuffy when there are more than three people inside, but we keep the door open to let in some breeze from the street. The floor is tiled and we try to keep it clean throughout the day. We don't have a receptionist or anything like that, you just walk in and if we are busy you can sit on the small plastic stool and wait. It’s a practical place for practical people. The neighborhood is noisy with the market and the cars, but inside we just focus on the task at hand. It’s a simple business and we like it that way. Most days we are here from morning until the sun goes down and the street lights come on.
