Jeevitha Beauty Saloon

Down in Tondiarpet, on Seniammani Koil Street, you’ll find Jeevitha Beauty Saloon at number 17/4. Chennai can be a very busy and loud city, but our street has its own vibe. I’ve been running this place for a while. It’s a small shop that mostly caters to the women in the neighborhood. We do things like hair trimming, threading, and simple styling. It’s not a luxury spa by any means. We have some plastic chairs for waiting and a big mirror that’s been there since we opened. I try to keep things clean and tidy, but with people coming in and out all day, it’s a constant job. The street outside is usually full of activity, especially near the temple. Sometimes the smell of jasmine from the flower sellers outside drifts into the shop. I enjoy the work because I get to hear all the local gossip. It’s like a community hub in a way. People come here to relax for a bit while they get their hair done. We don't use any high-end machines or expensive products. Just things that work and that people are comfortable with. The water can be a bit finicky sometimes, and the electricity goes out now and then, but we just keep going. It’s a humble business, and we are happy to be part of the Tondiarpet community after all these years.
