You can find Jack N Jill Salon N Spa at 202/3 Royapettah High Road. We are quite close to the Deccan Plaza, which is a big landmark around here. The shop has been in Royapettah for some time now. We have two sections, one for the hair cutting and another part for the spa stuff. The name makes it sound like it might be for kids, and we do get plenty of families, but adults come here too. The 600014 area is a mix of old buildings and new shops. Inside our place, the chairs are lined up against the wall and we have those big sinks for washing hair. The plumbing can be a bit noisy when someone is using the back room. We have a rack for magazines, mostly old ones, for people to look at while they wait. The staff usually brings lunch from home, so there’s often the smell of sambar or curry around noon. It’s a comfortable enough place without being over the top. We have regular fans and some lights that flicker once in a while. The street outside is always packed with two-wheelers and people walking to the bus stop. It’s just a normal Chennai business. We open up in the morning, sweep the front step, and wait for the first customer to walk through the door.
