Government Elementary School

You can find our little elementary school on Anna Street in Tambaram East. It is a small place, mainly because we deal with the younger kids from the immediate neighborhood. The building is simple, just a few classrooms and a small area where the children gather. In the mornings, the street gets a bit crowded with parents dropping off their little ones. It is a government school, so we don't have anything extravagant. The walls are often covered with some basic drawings the kids did in class. We have a few teachers who look after everyone, making sure they stay in their seats and learn their ABCs and numbers. It gets quite noisy during the lunch hour because small children always have a lot to say. The space is tight, but we make it work for everyone. We don't have a big playground, but the kids find ways to run around a bit. Most of the families around here know us because their older children probably came here too. It is a very local sort of place where everyone knows everyone else. We just stick to the basics of teaching and making sure the children are safe during the day. It is a quiet street usually, except when school starts or lets out in the afternoon. We have been a part of this street for many years.
