Government Boys Primary School

Government Boys Primary School is tucked away on Mac Nagar 4th Cross Street in Kattupakkam. Our address is No 4/14, and it’s a fairly quiet area compared to the main roads around Chennai. Since it’s a primary school, we mostly deal with the younger boys from the local 600056 area. You can hear them running around as soon as the bell rings for lunch. The school isn’t huge, but it fits the needs of the neighborhood kids well enough. We see the same faces every day, and parents usually stop by at the gate to drop off lunch boxes they forgot. The street outside can get a bit crowded with cycles and the occasional cow wandering through, which is just typical for Kattupakkam. We don't have any of those big fancy playgrounds you see in private schools, just a modest space where the boys play together. Inside, the walls have some old charts and drawings the boys made. It feels like a lived-in space. Sometimes the fans are a bit loud and rattly, but they keep the air moving during the hot afternoons. It’s a simple setup. We spend the days on basic lessons and making sure the boys are where they need to be. Most of the staff live nearby, so there’s a real local feel to the place. It’s just a normal school day, day in and day out, on Mac Nagar street. We try to keep things organized despite the usual chaos that comes with forty energetic children in one room.
